Bali is an Indonesian island known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, beaches and coral reefs. With an estimated population of 4.225 million (2014), the island is home to religious sites such as cliffside Uluwatu Temple. To the south, the beachside city of Kuta has lively bars, while Seminyak, Sanur and Nusa Dua are popular resort towns. The island is also known for its yoga and meditation retreats.

Safety
As regards safety, The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has not issued a warning against travelling to Bali, and most of Indonesia is still safe to visit.
Tourism cost 
Bali is the most expensive tourist destination in Indonesia and is slowly becoming more expensive as tourists discover more of Bali, but cheap food and accommodation are still widely available if you don't mind basic accommodations, stick to your budget, and bargain respectfully for prices.
